My dad, a Charleston native, always said that once you leave the Lowcountry, you spend your life trying to get back. He was right.

Though I grew up in the D.C. area, summers in Charleston—riding bikes downtown, shagging, shrimping, and bouncing on a joggling board—left a mark. I later attended the College of Charleston (Go Cougs!), and 25+ years later, I’m still here.
